Choosing an olive oil bottle should start with how you plan to use it—not with the largest bottle on the shelf. ITALOIL currently offers three separate sizes: 500ml, 250ml, and 100ml. Here is a simple way to choose among them without guessing.
Quick size guide
- 500ml: your primary bottle for everyday cooking, dressings, dipping, and finishing. Shop ITALOIL 500ml.
- 250ml: a smaller household, a food gift, or a second bottle for another kitchen. Shop ITALOIL 250ml.
- 100ml: tasting, gifting, meals on the go, or a compact travel format. Shop ITALOIL 100ml.
Choose 500ml for the everyday kitchen
The 500ml bottle is the most direct choice when olive oil is part of your regular cooking routine. Keep it within reach for sautéing, roasting, dressings, dipping, and finishing meals.
Choose it when you want one primary kitchen bottle rather than a smaller occasional-use format.
Choose 250ml for a smaller kitchen or food gift
The 250ml bottle offers a middle ground: more compact than the main 500ml bottle, but sized for repeated kitchen or table use.
It can fit a smaller household, a food gift, or a second bottle kept in another kitchen. It is also a useful choice when you want something more substantial than a tasting-size bottle without moving to the largest ITALOIL format.
Choose 100ml for tasting, gifting, or travel
The 100ml bottle is the most compact ITALOIL size. It works for tasting, a small food gift, meals on the go, or travel when you want to bring a limited amount.
For U.S. air travel, the Transportation Security Administration says carry-on liquids generally must be in containers of 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters or less and fit within the permitted liquids bag. Screening decisions and destination rules still apply, so check current TSA and airline guidance before packing.
Let storage influence your choice
Whichever size you choose, plan to keep the bottle closed and away from excessive heat, air, and light. The International Olive Council identifies those conditions as important to preserving olive oil after purchase.
A simple rule is to choose a size that fits your real kitchen routine and your available storage—not a size you feel obligated to buy.
Still deciding?
- Start with 500ml when you want a primary everyday bottle.
- Choose 250ml for a smaller kitchen, a food gift, or a second bottle.
- Choose 100ml for tasting, a compact gift, meals on the go, or travel planning.
